OC Operations and Maintenance (O&M) prioritizes the removal of graffiti as part of our commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and professional environments across its properties. The OC Board of Supervisors voted to ensure that public funds would be allocated for the removal of graffiti from all Orange County properties. Graffiti, when left unaddressed, can create an impression of neglect, and attract further vandalism or criminal activity. By promptly removing graffiti, O&M sends a clear message that its sites are actively maintained and monitored, discouraging repeat offenses, and preserving the integrity of the property.
The removal of graffiti is also essential for upholding the County of Orange's professional image and public trust. Many of the facilities maintained by O&M are in public view or serve critical functions in the community. Unsightly graffiti, especially when offensive or gang-related, can undermine the public’s confidence and detract from the appearance of essential infrastructure. O&M employs a variety of removal methods—such as pressure washing, chemical cleaners, or repainting—depending on the surface and severity of the markings, always ensuring that the process is safe and environmentally responsible. Certain tags or markings can obscure warning signs, safety instructions, and potentially pose a hazard to employees, contractors, or the public.
We provide routine graffiti inspections and abatement maintenance to ensure that our facilities remain not only clean, but also in full compliance with the OC Board of Supervisors commitment to its residents.
