Pothole Repair

OC Public Works Operations and Maintenance handles all pothole repairs for all unincorporated areas within Orange County right of ways. Potholes can appear in various shapes and sizes on asphalt roadways, primarily caused by rain, heavy traffic and expected rate of surface deterioration. They may also develop from minor cracking in the roadway, which, over time, can expand into larger potholes. Potholes can be repaired in various ways, typically by ensuring that the hole is thoroughly cleaned of all loose debris. Next, either a hot or cold mix is applied, and the material is then smoothed to match the surface of the asphalt. At times, road closures or detours may be implemented to ensure the safety of travelers.

If you notice a crack or pothole on an unincorporated Orange County Street, please submit a service request or contact the OC Operations & Maintenance Office at (714) 955-0200. An inspector will be sent to inspect the area and then coordinate to schedule a crew to make the necessary repairs as needed.
